Ghosts of Social Networks: No Going Back (single) review

Manchester’s Ghosts of Social Networks have released their new single ‘No Going Back’ this week – and we were happy to give it a listen.

The track arrives hot on the heels of their previous singles ‘Love Potion’ and ‘Comeback Kid’, via Integrity Records.

The first thing that hit us was the indie-synth. If you are a fan of the last Editors album ‘In Dreams’ then you will be a fan of this.

It is maybe not surprising this is the case as ‘No Going Back’ is produced by Gavin Monaghan, who has also worked in studio with the Editors.

“A very embracing sound,” is how BBC 6Music’s Steve Lamacq described GoSN, and we can’t disagree.

GoSN are the alter-ego of Nathan Till whose vocals on the track are reminiscent to that of Ian McCulloch from Echo & the Bunnymen.

‘No Going Back’ has a real North West-indie vibe coming from the region at the moment, not dissimilar to recent sensations, Blossoms.

G0SN are clearly are inspired by the likes of Nick Cave and The National, as well as those already mentioned.

Till has taken these influences and made them his own, creating a innovative, unique, fresh sound.

We look forward to hearing more.
