Teesside alt-pop and Beautiful South-inspired duo Cherry Head, Cherry Heart will release their second album ‘Tarred & Feathered’ next month.
The 12 tracks of timeless Britpop songwriting showcases their knack for sublime melodies, genre-hopping musicality and effortless charm.
We’ve had a listen to single ‘So Much More’ – which brings back memories of dancing around a pub jukebox to Belle & Sebastian.
It’s uplifting and nostalgic – if you liked the 90s.
With a clutch of alternative-pop songs that avoid the usual cliches and embrace influences from 60’s pop, classic country and bittersweet 80’s indie, they’ve begun work in earnest to take their maddeningly infectious music to the masses.
Following their lo-fi 2015 debut LP Chihuahua Deluxe, Tarred & Feathered is tied together with a loose narrative of a couple on the run from the real world and leaps from richly-detailed indie-pop arrangements to Spaghetti Western inflections (and most places in between) without losing their core personality and gift for melody.
Cherry Head, Cherry Heart will be playing shows in support of the new album this Spring and Summer.
