VANT: PUT DOWN YOUR GUN (single) review

Politically charged music is on the rise – and it’s hardly surprising given the current climate. VANT’s new single ‘PUT DOWN YOUR GUN’ is brave and honest.

Tackling issues like homophobia, racism and the war on fear – ‘PDYG’ makes you stop, listen and think.

It’s a pretty raucous rock song with relevant lyrics.

It has been a while since music has been angry – but British bands like VANT, Slaves and Cabbage are making us rage once again.

And we should all be angry right now.

‘PDYG’ tackles issues that many bands would shun – but these guys aren’t afraid to say what they think, which for us is part of their charm.

The single is the latest release from the indie-punk rockers debut album ‘Dumb Blood’ which was released last week.

While we haven’t had chance to listen to the whole album, if ‘PDYG’ is anything to by then we are in for a treat.
